Story Prompts:

If you’re a teacher, or perhaps a parent who wants to encourage your child to tell stories, you might like to use this picture of a witchy cat as a creative writing prompt. For example:

• Why is this cat wearing a witch’s hat? Has she stolen it while the witch is out so that she can do some spells behind her back? What kind of trouble might that lead to? Or perhaps this isn’t a cat at all but the witch herself – could she have disguised herself on purpose for a secret mission?
  What do you think she has to find out?
• That candle behind the cat could have become enchanted by the bubbles of magic potion. Perhaps it’s about to start talking and moving about. What do you think its first words and actions would be?
• This cat is especially beautiful with lovely long fur and a ribbon around her neck. Perhaps the potion has made her this way. What do you think she looked like before?
